Man Convicted Posting Photos of Ex Lover

CURITIBA, Parana – A Businessman in Maringá, in the state of Paraná, was sentenced to two years in prison for publishing compromising photographs of his ex-girlfriend on the internet. The salacious photographs were taken during moments of intimacy before the relationship ended.

The judge recognized the defendant's remorse and recognition of the crimes of which he was convicted, specifically defamation and libel. The prison sentence was suspended, replaced by community service and payment of restitution to the ex-girlfriend in the amount of R$1,575 (about $850 USD) per month for 24 months.

The couple was together for three years. After the separation, the businessman, unhappy with the ending of the relationship, began making disparaging comments on the character of the ex to his friends, family and coworkers.

In addition to emailing intimate images of her to his male acquaintances, he posted them to both national and international pornography websites.
