According to the father, Alexander Salome, the registration clerk said that the name could not be accepted.

“She asked me to write it down for her, which I did.” She entered the name into the computer to see if it existed. I told her “no, I don't think that it does—we made it up.” She replied, “well, that name does not exist in the computer so I cannot accept it.

The couple tried to register the birth at three other locations around the region but were turned down at all of them. According to federal law there are no forbidden names but a registrar can refuse a name if the registrar thinks that the name can embarrass the child or cause confusion as to the sex of the child.

The parents say that they do not want to use an existing name. They will not give up says the mother.

The couple has two other daughters, Rhayanna and Alllyrhah who like the name created for their new sister.
