To the delight of some, the humidity tended to be below normal for this time of year. The drier air is expected to inhibit the formation of clouds and there is no forecast for precipitation until Friday night, when there is a slight chance of showers. The record heat for this year so far was 41.4º C (106.5º F) reached on 28 January.

Also according to the weather service, the intense heat will continue on Friday. The forecast is for another day of sunny, cloudless skies, but with a slight chance of showers Friday evening. The weekend should be hot weather until the cold Christmas eve when a cold front bringing polar air arrives and with it a good chance for rain on Christmas day.
