Woman Arrested Brandishing Pistols

| RIO DE JANEIRO – A 36-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday night by officers of the Special Operations Police Battalion (BOPE) after brandishing two pistols in a bar. The confrontation and arrest took place in the neighborhood of Larangeiras, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, according to the Civil Police (PC).

According to the police, a group of young people in the bar warned a group of BOPE officers who were passing by that there was a woman brandishing pistols in the bar. The officers arrested the women, who offered no resistance.

She was taken to the 13th precinct (Ipanema) where she was cited for carrying concealed weapons. After booking, the woman was transferred to the Polinter-Neves penitentiary, in the city of São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, according to an article on G1 Rio.
