The commander of the 4th Battalion of the PM, in Florianopolis, Lieutenant Colonel Araujo Gomes, said on Tuesday that the four policemen involved in the hijinks have been identified and suspended from active duty. The commander didn't release many details, but said that the institution's internal affairs department will investigate the case.

The abused cow was part of an urban exhibition produced by artist Marcos Ruck, and located in the center of downtown Florianopolis. After the police were finished molesting the poor “animal”, vandals took their turn, stealing earrings playfully placed on the figure by the artist.

Yesterday, photos of uniformed, on-duty, Military Police officers in the neighboring state of Parana went viral on the internet. Those photos showed the police officers apparently drinking beer while socializing with young, scantily-clad women.
