According to a release from the Civil Police, gunmen shot the man in front of his children, the eldest being 12 years and the youngest only 11 months. They shot the victim 12 times: three times in the face, once each in the chest and neck, four times in the belly, once in the left arm and, for good measure, twice in the back.

According to the chief, they have suspects but have not made any arrests. "Four men entered the victim's home and killed him with a .40 caliber pistol, at around 3 pm, in front of five children. The assailants ransacked all the rooms of the house, but apparently did not take anything from the residence," the chief told G1.

Neighbors said that the victim had a stall where he sold barbecue skewers and that the enterprise was a front for the drug trade.
